THIS IS SOOO EXCITING!I They were delivered to my house on Lake Erie Friday September the 17th. and I just stared at them and cried! What an unbelievable feeling to hold your very own book that’s taken 15 years from it’s start in 1995 with a decision to write my story for my children and asking my mom a few questions- to the delivery at my door of the published work!!!
I have asked myself of late, what have I gotten myself into?. Well I don’t have a clue, but whatever it is I will embrace the experience.
I didn’t know for instance that I would have to do a lot of my own marketing locally..Keith has turned out to be the driver in all of this and keeps coming up with different things to promote it.
We had a great holiday this summer, and promoted the book all the way down east and back.
I have 3 bookings for readings in Dunnville, Ontario already and a two-day event at the end of November in Port Dover On… I will probably be a going ahead with the book launch kindly offered by my Senator Bill in Ottawa! tentatively for Nov.24. I will let you know for sure when I shore-up the date. and find out what the protocol is on security issues…love to see all of my friends there!
Today I received an e-mail from Canada Council for the Arts telling me to mark my calendar October 13th, as a ,possible finalist to receive the Governor Generals Award for literacy! Will somebody please pinch me!
